Meet the Maker: Lenora Organics

It’s time to introduce you to the next maker in our Meet the Maker Series! This week, we’re so excited to introduce you to Jenn of Lenora Organics. We source our face masks & chapstick from Lenora Organics, but truly, ANYTHING you buy from Jenn we trust. All of her products are safe, ethically & environmentally conscious, and made with certified organic ingredients.

Tell us a little about your story? How did you get started?

Story time! I worked for a major retailer at a cosmetic counter. Back then, the “clean beauty” concept never even crossed my mind. I assumed that all skincare products were safe, why wouldn’t they be? Fast forward to a few years when my skin became super irritated, bumpy, and super sensitive! I tried every commercial product under the sun that claimed to help. Nothing worked, it made my skin worse! Taking this into my own hands, I started to experiment and research. I was disgusted at the ingredients found in mass produced skincare products and how damaging they could be to the skin and long-term health. You could say the tipping point was when I purchased a big ol’ bag of organic herbs and just started to experiment with their deliciousness. It started working! Others took notice and suggested that I start sharing and marketing to others with sensitive skin. The rest is history!

This whole creative process led my business to create only with certified organic ingredients and sustainability in my sourcing and packaging is always high priority.

Lenora stems from my sweet Norwegian Grandmother’s name. I love seeing her name on all of the products.

What do you love about the medium you work in?

Being able to create and offer an alternative to chemical laden skincare products is so rewarding. And, always having access to organic skincare allows me to practice what I preach about taking time out for oneself (self-care).

If you could offer any advice to other creatives who are just starting out, what would you say?

Create something everyday without judging your work - just have fun! Everything takes time, it’s important to enjoy the process. Another piece of advice would be to keep a small notebook at your side all the time. Inspiration hits you at the weirdest times, and you want to be ready to jot it down.

And please don’t give up! If you don’t work, neither will your dreams. The reward outweighs the uncertainty.

What are the best ways for people to support you right now?

We are on Instagram and Facebook. Hopefully someday soon (fingers crossed, we will be attending local vendor shows again. We would LOVE to see you and say hello.
