Meet the Maker: Henry's Handcrafted
Calling all dog lovers! Today, we're introducing the makers and shakers behind our favorite wholesome dog treats. Meet Henry, the German Wirehaired Pointer and inspiration for Henry's Handcrafted, and his human, Lauren -- the one who started it all.
After taking notice of the mysterious ingredients in dog treats, Lauren set out to bake treats that she could feel good about giving to Henry. The result was wholesome, delicious and pup approved.

1. Tell us a little bit about your story! How did you get started?
I made my first batch of Henry’s Original 3 years ago. I had been working at a cafe/chocolate shop so was picking up a lot of experience with baking and working with ingredients. I was at the grocery store and decided to pick up some treats for Henry and after looking at the back of each package and seeing they were either made outside of the US and/or were filled with mystery ingredients. I thought, I can do better! I went home and made my first batch of Henry’s Original with bananas, peanuts, honey, pumpkin and oats. Today, we have 8 original flavors and can be found in 9+ locations. I love making every batch, knowing they’re good for dogs and delicious too.
2. What do you love about the medium you work in?
I love working with food. It allows me to be creative and that’s something that’s always been a big part of who I am. Also, I get to talk about food and dogs all the time, so I’m always in my happy place.
3. If you could offer any advice to other creatives who are just starting out, what would you say?
Don’t compare yourself to others. Make your own unique product.
